I have a PhD in Education from the Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ, 2012), a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in History from the Universidade Federal Fluminense/UFF (2006; 2008). I did a sandwich doctorate internship at the Universidad de Alcalá in Spain (2011), with a CAPES scholarship and obtained a FAPERJ Doctoral scholarship Grade 10 Award (2011, 2012 I also served as a Junior Visiting Professor at the University of Illinois, with a CAPES scholarship from January to December 2019. In 2022, I did a senior postdoctoral internship at the Universidade Federal Fluminense, with a CNPq scholarship.
I worked as professor at the Department of History at the Federal University of Mato Grosso/UFMT (2013-2015); in the Postgraduate Program in History at UFMT (2014-2016) and in the Professional Master’s Degree in History Teaching, ProfHist/UFMT (2015-2018). I am currently head of the Department of Social Sciences and Education, elected as University Counsellor (2021-2023), associate professor at the Faculty of Education at UERJ and professor at the Graduate School of Education at UERJ. I supervised doctoral theses, master’s dissertations, and postdoctoral internships.
I have been a Proscientist at UERJ since 2017, Young Scientist Program of Nosso Estado at FAPERJ since 2015 and I have coordinated research projects contemplated in public notices by FAPEMAT, FAPERJ, CNPq and CAPES. I have produced books and articles in the areas of History and Education, with special attention to the fields of History of Education, History of Teaching and Public History.
I am a writer and illustrator of children’s books focused on themes of diversity, inclusion, and representation. I manage the YouTube channel called Academicamente Viável, in which I publish the research I have carried out, in order to seek a dialogue with professors about teaching experience and practice. I believe that education and research are investments to face social inequalities which provide inclusion. I understand education as a basic human right.
